As we get ready for another trip from here to there, our thoughts turn to which airplane we will be flying on, and what sort of airplanes we will be on in the future. There’s been a lot of talk in the aviation and travel industry about the new aircraft coming online from various manufacturers. One of the airplanes that has been most anticipated is from Boeing.
The 737 has been around since the mid-60s, and there have been more than a few variations and upgrades. The new series of 737s may look a lot like the originals, but they are far more advanced that the early models. In March of this year Boeing’s 737 Max 7 had it’s first flight. Note that on this first flight they do not retract the landing gear. This is for safety. In addition, you can see the famous Boeing chase plane, it is an “ex” T33 jet.
Boeing’s statistics on the 737 Max 7 say that the aircraft can be configured for 138 to 153 passengers in a two-class arrangement, although it could handle up to 172 passengers in a single-class configuration. The Max 7 is nearly 117 feet in length and has a wingspan of just under 118 feet.
