Well, yes, the TEAC A360S plays very nicely, indeed. You can see and hear it in the video on the right. Unfortunately, the right channel meter does not work and it will not record. I am pretty sure I can sort that out. Maybe not right away, but certainly in …
The new transistors and capacitors from DigiKey arrived and the process of swapping out got started very quickly. On the right you can see one of the new transistors. Note that I have marked the “E” lead with a touch of red. This helps me remember that the E lead …
In the last post I explained how changing the belts in the TEAC A360S cassette deck were successful, but that the tapes did not actually play. New belts and proper lubrication allow the mechanics to operate, you know, move the tape and such, but everything else was out to lunch. …

In my last post I mentioned a Zenith record player. Some folks asked for details. Here is the goodie on the right. This is a Zenith C587 that they called an All-In-One Music System. It features a pretty good turntable, AM/FM radio, and a pair of surprisingly decent speakers. My …
A great day recently! A friend is moving and decided that she had too many record albums. Oh, can that really be a problem? Knowing that I am a Ventures fan (Tacoma’s favorite rock band, you know) she offered to send me her three albums. Who am I to say …
I was passing the Restore shop last week and on a lark decided to stop in. As usual, there was a great selection of furniture, but I was heading toward the record bins. That day the bins were nearly empty, but one of the containers had this gem from 1966. …
