You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown at Lincoln College

In the late 1970s, about 1979, I think, we did You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown at Lincoln College. There was a goal to incorporate the arts into general education, and one of the ways that LC could participate was to do a show where we could bring in local elementary school students. “Back in the day” the Children’s Theatre program at Pacific Lutheran University was well-known and highly respected. Charlie Brown was one of the shows we did during my time there, and I incorporated some of the techniques I learned at PLU into the production at Lincoln.

After all these years I do not recall the exact number of performances we did, but I think it was close to a dozen. We brought in bus loads of students. Using methods developed at PLU, I organized the student house staff so that they could seat an entire audience in a matter of minutes. The students did an excellent job and managed not only the seating, but the bus parking as well. As usual, I did the scenery and lights.
