The Mousetrap at Lincoln College

We did the The Mousetrap at Lincoln College in the late 1970s. I did the scenery and lights. Direction was by Linda King. The play was performed in the round on the stage of Johnston Center. We had “walls” on all four sides that had a “magic chainsaw” applied to them. The result was that they “walls” were only knee-high. This prevented the audience from walking across the set and served to hide components such as wiring for sound effects. The floor was hand-made by the crew. They grooved 1/4″ plywood so that it resembled hardwood. The panels were installed around the acting area perimeter. A carpet in the center covered the rest of the stage.
