Pygmalion at Lincoln College

We did Pygmalion at Lincoln College back about 1976 or 1977. At that time we were working with very, very tiny budgets, and that is fairly apparent in the photographs. Because we couldn’t afford walls, we didn’t build any. We settled for the windows and other elements and left the connecting structures to the imagination of the audience. By spinning the onstage parts we were able to cause the scenery to do “double duty”. The concept was inspired by the periaktoi of the ancient Greek theatre.
