Now here’s something you don’t see every day. This is the building for the Museum of Flying at the Santa Monica Airport, and it has the nose of a Fed-X 727 protruding. At first it looks like either the coolest advertisement or the worst parking job in history.
As it turns out, this is part of a fascinating display in the museum. The 727 retains its original cockpit, and you can visit the pilots’ working “office” by going up to the second floor of the Museum. And, yes, you can actually sit in the seats!
