One of the more interesting things at the Museum of Flying in Santa Monica is this “airplane”. In fact, this is actually a replica of a Lockheed Vega. It is a movie prop that was made for Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian.
At first it looks exactly like the real thing. On closer inspection you see that the fuselage windows are taped over and the engine is fake. Mind you, it is a very good fake! You could easily think this was ready for take-off.
