To many people, “New York” is that place along the coast that is covered in concrete and large buildings. The fact of the matter is that New York is a lot more than just “The City“. Residents outside of the metropolis categorize the state into three distinct regions. There’s Upstate, Central New York, and Western New York. Each of the three regions has special features that you don’t want to miss if you are lucky enough to live or visit there.
The photo on the left is a typical of the type of scene you might see if you explore New York, and not The City. In fact, this big red barn is located in Upstate, near Altamont.
