In my last post I mentioned the Shackleton airplane. Most folks who read these writings are not familiar with this aircraft. The Shackleton was built by Avro, and was uses by the RAF and South African Air Force for long range patrolling over the oceans. It is a very large airplane with four engines and more propellers than I can count. Honestly, the size is stunning, but the props are awe-inspiring.
The example on the photograph here is on outdoor display at the Newark Air Museum in Nottinghamshire, UK. If you get the opportunity to visit the museum, do so, and be sure to check out the Shackleton.
